It’s your decision: The management is responsible to decide in favour of strategic options and the implementation of the proposed processes. The consultant must be ready and capable to make appropriate recommendations and to comprehensibly justify those, both quantitatively and qualitatively. It is his/her responsibility to ensure the systematic preparation in the decision making process. This includes primarily the financial evaluation of all given alternatives. In dealing with a business strategy this would for example include a business plan.

Possible risks

Possible risks (for example: the underlying assumptions do not materialise or there are backlashes from competitors) and their possible consequences are taken into consideration. If multiple future scenarios are being considered, it is neccessary to use their parameter to further evaluate possible results. Ultimately the realizability of all variants has to be tested. The systematic preparation of the decision making process doesn’t lead to less uncertainty about the future, but allows a containment of the range of possible effects.

Strategic management consulting

Central function: supporting your company in all strategic matters. These concern assessments, further and new development of objectives and goals, concepts and processes, including concepts of overall business models. Also included is a detailed analysis such as the business environment (for example markets, products, technology, business rivalry, internationalisation) with broad objectives for the company (for example continuance, market positioning and customer loyalty).

Approach:

a) Evaluation of already existing strategies: at all times, your company stands in a certain position and acts accordingly in strategic relevant manner. Consciously or unconsciously pursued strategies are not necessarily the ideal approach. A detailed assessment in regards to business goals, consistency and freedom from contradictions has to be made. Such assessment may be caused by negative developments (such as a decline in business and a decrease in profit), but also by new business ideas concerning the company. New investments can of course require an assessment as well.

b) Further development / strategy adjustments: the need for strategic advancement or adjustment (strategic redesign) may result from external or internal changes. The external environment of a company constantly changes (for example: market saturation, development of new technologies, new competitors). Interally, the availability of new, additional resources (for example: inventions, newly available funds) or the cessation of resources (for example: the discontinuation of particular trade marks, patents, licences, loss of important members of staff) can imply that an expansive or contractive reorientation is required.

c) New development of strategies: The necessitiy for new strategies (strategic renewal) arises, when a new company is being formed, the merging of companies is taking place or when the owner changes. In all of the above cases, a new definition in terms of objectives and goals is needed, followed by a new strategic market positioning and an adjustment of the entire value chain.

d) Validation of strategies: this also includes armlength comparison by active benchmarking and reports about internal controlling. Regular strategy varifications lead to growth-oriented action and provide security in terms of company decisions. This validation is based upon comprehensive and innovative analytical methods, which in close collaboration with the business management will lead to an optimization of all strategic processes.

Networking

a) Based on the strategic analysis (see strategic management consulting), an analysis of the existing business network will be made, including the already existing social media channels. The public image and enterprise communication are the core competence for success.
